Maria graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting in 2006. She obtained her CPA license in 2015.
Maria began her professional accounting career in 2006 as a general ledger accountant for a trucking company. She continued her career in similar roles for several years. She transitioned her career from industry accounting to public accounting at Hext Financial Group as a Financial Services Associate in June 2015. Maria has been promoted several times. Her current position is Financial Services Manager.
Maria is a CPA and has worked with a wide variety of audits, reviews, agreed upon procedures and compilations. She has also held the role of controller for clients and assist in bookkeeping processes for various tax clients. Her experience in the industry has given her a broader understanding of each client and their needs. Her experience in various industries has also placed her in a good position to be able to adapt quickly to new challenges.
Maria is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a member of the TSBPA (Texas State Board of Public Accountants). Maria is bilingual and participates in the Firm’s Aspire and professional mixers.
Maria along with her daughter live in Richardson, Texas. In her spare time, Maria enjoys time with her family, outdoors activities and traveling.
